Our Story

At Balance, we care about one thing - creating space for you to become mentally, physically, & emotionally present with yourself through movement.

Our wide variety of teachers and class types including Yoga, Barre, and Pilates are structured to fit all learning types and abilities. Our studio is designed to embrace the beginner’s journey or to come alongside the expert, providing you with the tools you need to care for yourself for a lifetime of practice and peace.

The yoga tradition is deeply rooted in self-awareness. This practice encourages deep breathing, focus, and cultivating attention for our minds and bodies. We live in such a demanding world in which we give outwardly so often that we forget to ask ourselves what we need, whether that be physically, emotionally, or mentally. Our practices provide the space and structure for you to reconnect with yourself. This is why we take time in each class for Savasana, a period of relaxation and rest.

Our mission is to provide a safe and welcoming space where students can explore their own movement while also gaining a deeper appreciation for what it means to be present with themselves. We work to create harmony between the mind, body, and spirit to introduce students to the peace they already hold inside themselves.

“The minute I walked in here I felt like I was part of the community. They are inclusive of all levels and backgrounds. The decor and layout of the studio is both relaxing and inspiring. What an asset to Wichita Falls. Highly recommend. A unique contribution to our community’s growth.”

FAQ’s

 tips for beginners

Dress comfortably. Wear something you can easily move around in. Layers are great as your body temperature will likely change throughout the class. Barre classes do require grip socks, which we sell in the retail lounge.

Slip off your shoes and store your wallet and phone in the cubbies provided in the front retail space. The teacher always locks the front door during classes, so your personal items will be safe.

Plan to show up 10 -15 minutes early so that you can get signed in and settled before class starts.

Bring water and a towel if you like, or just use one of our towels from the prop wall. You may sweat, depending on the class. Hydration is key to an enjoyable yoga practice. Water is available in the lobby as well.

Most importantly, don’t worry about what you look like as a beginner. Even the best yogis were once just starting out. Come to class with an open mind and a sense of humor. Instructors will provide personalized attention and demonstrate poses or modifications as necessary. Be sure to let your teacher know if you are new or if you have any injuries.

We can’t wait to see you at our studio!

is pre-sign up required for class?

Pre-sign up is extremely encouraged to save your spot in class and prepare the teacher for any new students! This also saves time for you and the teacher when arriving for class, and ensures that we do not go over capacity for each class.

can my son/daughter attend a class with me?

Yes, the age limit is 10 years and older accompanied by a parent. The price for a drop-in class for your child is the same as it is for you, $18. Please be mindful of the other students in the class. We ask that you make the best judgment on if your child is ready for a full class.

is it okay if i am running late to a class?

We ask that you arrive a minimum of 5 mins before the class starts. You will be most prepared for your experience when you can be settled fully on your mat at the time class begins. The doors will be locked a few minutes after the start of class.

what should i wear to class?

Comfortable clothes that you can move in.

what are some of the benefits of yoga?

There are countless benefits to Yoga classes, including stress reduction, increased blood circulation, improved flexibility and strength, improved sleep patterns, and relaxation. A regular practice (at least two times a week) can reduce the symptoms of many chronic diseases (e.g. arthritis, diabetes, and thyroid disorders).

how is barre different than balletone?

Barre is a ballet inspired, core-centric class focusing on isolated exercises, posture, flexibility, and strength as you work through targeted and mindful muscle movements. Push yourself to the limit — and then find balance — as every exercise is incorporated with a deep stretch. Grip socks are suggested for this class!  Bring your own pair, or purchase at the studio for $10.
Balletone is a fusion of non-stop cardio, strength, and graceful movement that blends techniques from ballet, Pilates, and functional fitness. Like classical ballet, the Balletone program provides a foundation for healthier posture, improved body alignment, increased balance, development of join strength, and precise control of the body. This class leaves you feeling graceful, elegant, and strong! This class is done barefoot, with no mat or equipment needed.

what can i expect in a yoga class?

We start the class with relaxation and breathing to calm the mind and practice being still. Then, we warm up the body with sun salutations and standing poses. All classes end in a relaxing Savasana. In some classes, time is left at the end to explore new or advanced poses.

can i bring a friend?

Of course! If possible, ask them to sign up for class before arriving!

do i need to bring a mat?

If you do have your own mat, please bring it! If not, we have mats available at the studio for you to use.
